Coffee may influence you ability to become pregnant.

Tests have shown that 3 cups of coffee a day (corresponding to 230 mg caffeine a day) reduces fertility by 25 % compared to a consumption of 1 or 2 cups a week (corresponding to 7 mg caffeine a day).

Other tests show that there is a correlation between a high intake of caffeine prior to pregnancy and miscarriages.

If consumption of caffeine is high the likelihood of miscarriage is increased by 30 to 70%, depending on the consumption.

The caffeine is the culprit
It is the caffeine in the coffee that is the culprit. Be aware that two cups of black tea or ice tea contains the same amount of caffeine as one cup of coffee and also remember that cola also contains a high amount of caffeine even the light products.

If you wish to avoid caffeine you should try some of the numerous herbal teas that are available.

Maybe you will find one you like.
