At Storkklinik we have been experiencing an increasingly request for acupuncture from our clients.
Now, we are able to offer acupuncture treatment at the clinic.
It is not a prerequisite for you to be in insemination proces to recieve treatment.
All are very welcome.
The acupuncture treatment is performed by nurse and acupuncturist Helle Bach, who is registered as an alternative therapist.

Acupuncture - Oriental medicine
Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment method, which takes place by means of inserting needles in selected acupuncture points on the body's meridians, stimulate blood flow to the uterus and contributes thus presumably positively to the process of becoming pregnant.
Several scientific studies have been conducted and published on acupuncture and infertility treatment. Many show that acupuncture given in conjunction with IVF treatment increases the likelihood of pregnancy, whereas others show no difference.
However, it is difficult to perform "western medical" oriented studies when it comes to acupuncture. Acupuncture should be assessed individually and adjusted to the individual's age, any imbalances, wants and needs.
Acupuncture and fertility
In Traditional Chinese medicine it is considered important to balance physical and mental energy when attempting to achieve pregnancy. One speaks of the innate energy, qi , which must flow freely in the body.
This energy can be influenced by means of needles. Some clients may also experience a momentary relaxation of the body, when needles are inserted.
Several women use acupuncture as part of their IVF treatment. They believe that acupuncture helps in egg production, endometrial thickness, and finally that acupuncture significantly reduces side effects from traditional medical treatment.
Acupuncture may also be used in trying to optimize and improve sperm quality in men.
It is our experience that acupuncture can be beneficial in many different cases.
Some women like acupuncture in connection with insemination to achieve a restful and relaxing effect. Others just find it important to make something special out of the process.
Acupuncture and pregnancy
We have good experience with treatment of normal pregnancy discomfort such as nausea, and in most cases the effect will last for more than a week.
How does it feel?
Thin sterile disposable needles are carefully inserted into selected points on the body.
You may feel a small prick when the needle is inserted, possibly also a tingling called needles sensation, which is a sign that the needle "has a good hold."
You will be resting with the needles for 25-30 minutes per session.
After effects?
There are none or very few repercussions. Occasionally a bruise may arise where the needle has been inserted, this has no impact on the treatment itself. Some may feel a little dull afterwards, so it is adviceable that today's workout is done before an acupuncture treatment. Others may feel an increased thirst sensation, which is normal too.
